Cons are Confusing

Continuing with her Con-going, Miz Sylver is working at Total Confusion today! The convention continues through tomorrow at the Best Western Royal Plaza in Marlborough, MA. Miz Sylver is working at the Iron DM competition, which sounds terrifying!

And speaking of Cons, don't forget that PAX East is coming up March 10-12, and we are doing lots of cool stuff! That's right, we are hosting a panel, and you can listen to our excellent preview here! Johto Joins Pokemon GO!

Episode 64: The stunning sixty-fourth episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! Miz Sylver is a special guest at Genghis Con! She's having an awesome time! There's a promotion now at GameStop giving away a card with a code for a silver Bottle Cap, and they have purchase bonuses for the Pokemon TCG.

And of course, the big news of the week!!! Pokemon GO has busted out with a huge new release, which has gotten more people back into the game! Generation 2 Pokemon from Gold and Silver have finally started spawning, after the tease of Gen 2 babies hatching from eggs! They've introduced a slew of other new features, including new berries, new evolution items that you will get randomly from pokestops, new clothes (some free, some that cost pokecoins), gender specific pokemon, new encounter mechanics, new candy bonuses, and more... If this has you excited, pokemon storage space is on sale in the game at half price (50 more slots for 100 pokecoins, down from 200). Are you still playing Pokemon GO? Greg Marks Deals in D&D

Episode 63: The sincere sixty-third episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast. Today, we have a special guest, the incomparable aka Celebrity Dungeon Master Greg Marks (on Facebook) aka Green Mario. This frequent guest of the show is an Associate Resource Manager for Wizards of the Coast. He writes a lot of adventures for the Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League available at The DMs Guild. (Miz Sylver writes adventures too! Check out Giant Diplomacy!) This week he is joining us to talk about the end of Season 5 of D&D Adventurers League Organize Play, Storm King's Thunder, and the start of Season 6, which is all about classic dungeon crawls. This season's key book is Tales from the Yawning Portal. He also talks about his upcoming convention appearances, so you can stalk him down in person! But first, some random news!
  • Pokemon GO's Valentine's Event is happening until February 15th. Pink Pokemon appear more frequently, including in eggs! And, get double the candy, as is appropriate for Valentine's Day! Also, LURES LAST 6 HOURS! If swelling does not go down, call a doctor!
  • The third Pokemon Sun and Moon Global Mission is on until February 14th! This one is to trade Pokemon using the GTS, and it's already reached its stretch goal! So sign up for festival coins and a Friend Ball!
  • Miz Sylver is playing Fire Emblem Heroes... We review the results of the character votes! Miz Sylver's home-girl Tharja came in third, just missing having a special version created.

Team Skull Takes PAX South

Episode 62: the sultry sixty-second episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! Today we cover some news and Miz Sylver talks PAX South! First, the news:
  • You can now get Mewnium Z in Pokemon Sun and Moon by using the online Pokemon Bank. You have until October, but do it sooner rather than later.
  • There's a new Global Mission in Pokemon Sun and Moon! This one is to trade 1 million Pokemon using the Global Trade Station. The reward is for Festival Coins, but you can also get a Friend Ball if 2 million Pokemon are traded! This mission ends February 14th.
  • Roxy's Grilled Cheese has opened up a barcade in Central Square in Cambridge. They opened last weekend, and friend of the podcast Ricario visited. What if we have a meet-up there some time soon?
  • This year is Final Fantasy's 30th anniversary! Whoa! They are releasing a bunch of different products in honor of the anniversary, including deluxe wine glasses and wine. Special Cup Noodle ramen with different art for each game are available! There's a really cool Final Fantasy fork-sword prize that you can win by buying those Cup Noodles, but trust the Wolf Doctor when she says that it's very easy to get a toaster oven stuck on your Buster Sword. Final Fantasy is also getting the Escape Room treatment. In the show, we say it's Japan-only, but they just announced after we recorded that it will also be coming to the US!
  • Speaking of Escape Rooms, iam8bit is bringing their Resident Evil Escape Room to Boston February 22 - March 19. There are still tickets! Still tickets! They are starting to get sold out on the weekends, but you can still go! We are going to go!
  • And in podcast news, /r/Nintendo is gonna have a podcast! The first episode will go up February 7th, and you can enter to be on the show now!
  • And of course, PAX East, we are still having our panel "Podcasting: from Amateur to Pro-Caster" on Saturday March 11th at 8pm.
And then, Miz Sylver tells us about the awesomeness of PAX South. First off, Miz Sylver loved San Antonio. Shout out to of for recommending the awesome restaurant Mi Tierra, for letting Miz Sylver play Kung Fu Shadow Fist, and for introducing us to . Miz Sylver met lots of awesome people, including an Omeganaut (listen to our interview with an Omeganaut, Lisa!), Team Skull, and David Erick Ramos. She tried a lot of cool games including Fist of Physics, Has-Been Heroes, Resident Evil 7 Forsaken Castle, and Streets of Rogue. Her Family Feud StreetPass Game Show was awesome, look for it at PAX East! And we use it as our inspiration for the question of the week:
