PokeProblemsPodcast SWITCH es it UP!

Episode 66: the spectacular sixty-sixth episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! This week we play a little Switch, but before that we debut our wonderful new theme music from Jonathan Marlin Music! on Twitter, or better yet check out his website or find his music in the Unity Asset Store and use it in your games! We talk a bit of news before we play some Switch games. First, Miz Sylver dishes about the Iron DM competition at Total Con. She had a great time! Miz Sylver also had an awesome time picking up her Switch at . She chatted with Mike's Monster Gaming and Blockheadgaming and even Vice President Bowser! (Doug Bowser, no relation.)

As we discussed last week, Miz Sylver is also working at the newest season of Super League, organizing events for the Boston Revolt. If you or your child are a MineCraft fan, these events are a ton of fun!

Greg Marks Deals in D&D

Episode 63: The sincere sixty-third episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast. Today, we have a special guest, the incomparable aka Celebrity Dungeon Master Greg Marks (on Facebook) aka Green Mario. This frequent guest of the show is an Associate Resource Manager for Wizards of the Coast. He writes a lot of adventures for the Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League available at The DMs Guild. This week he is joining us to talk about the end of Season 5 of D&D Adventurers League Organize Play, Storm King's Thunder, and the start of Season 6, which is all about classic dungeon crawls. Team Skull Takes PAX South

Episode 62: the sultry sixty-second episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! Today we cover some news and Miz Sylver talks PAX South! First, the news:
  • You can now get Mewnium Z in Pokemon Sun and Moon by using the online Pokemon Bank. You have until October, but do it sooner rather than later.
  • There's a new Global Mission in Pokemon Sun and Moon! This one is to trade 1 million Pokemon using the Global Trade Station. The reward is for Festival Coins, but you can also get a Friend Ball if 2 million Pokemon are traded! This mission ends February 14th.
  • Roxy's Grilled Cheese has opened up a barcade in Central Square in Cambridge. They opened last weekend, and friend of the podcast Ricario visited. What if we have a meet-up there some time soon?
  • This year is Final Fantasy's 30th anniversary! Whoa! They are releasing a bunch of different products in honor of the anniversary, including deluxe wine glasses and wine. Special Cup Noodle ramen with different art for each game are available! There's a really cool Final Fantasy fork-sword prize that you can win by buying those Cup Noodles, but trust the Wolf Doctor when she says that it's very easy to get a toaster oven stuck on your Buster Sword. Final Fantasy is also getting the Escape Room treatment. In the show, we say it's Japan-only, but they just announced after we recorded that it will also be coming to the US!
  • Speaking of Escape Rooms, iam8bit is bringing their Resident Evil Escape Room to Boston February 22 - March 19. There are still tickets! Still tickets! They are starting to get sold out on the weekends, but you can still go! We are going to go!
  • And in podcast news, /r/Nintendo is gonna have a podcast! The first episode will go up February 7th, and you can enter to be on the show now!
  • And of course, PAX East, we are still having our panel "Podcasting: from Amateur to Pro-Caster" on Saturday March 11th at 8pm.

Nintendo Switch it up with Sylverstone

Episode 61: the Switch filled sixty-first episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! We talk about his experience at the Nintendo Switch Preview Event in New York. (More of these events are upcoming.) He trekked down to the Kimpton Hotel on 6th Ave at 6:30 am for the 10 am 90-minute session of Switch experiences! He talks about ARMS, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, his impressions of the hardware, and getting to say hi to . His overall impression of the Switch is that it's awesome!

The Awesome Michael and The Wolf Doctor also discuss the newest Switch reveal! Both Michael and Miz Sylver pre-ordered the grey package, and they both pre-ordered the Breath of the Wild! We discuss many different aspects of the Nintendo Switch, from the hardware, to the controllers, to the games, the price, the online service! It works out to, "We'll see!" doesn't it? The ideas are great, and the price is fair, but until you play those games and see how well the motion controllers work, you don't know! (Though we all agree that Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is pretty much a no fail beauty!) The Nintendo Switch and Play Preview Events are happening in the weeks leading up to launch; the New York event is happening tomorrow, January 15th, at 10 a.m. ET, in a secret location on the second floor of 849 Avenue of the Americas in NYC.
