Episode 220: The Swinub Episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast!

Pokemon Go has a lot in August! Eevee community weekend is Saturday, August 14, 2021, and Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The August Research Breakthrough encounter is Chimecho, and there's gonna be weekly 1 PokéCoin bundles with a Remote Raid Pass! Featured Pokémon in raids include Palkia, Mega Ampharos, Mega Beedrill, and Mega Pidgeot. Every Wednesday in August, a Raid Hour event will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. The highlights are Wednesday, August 25, 2021: Zacian, and the bonus Raid Hour event on Monday, August 30, 2021: Zamazenta! Pokémon Spotlight Hours continue with East Sea Shellos, West Sea Shellos, Skwovet, and Wooloo. Thursday, August 26, 2021 is GO Battle Night!

Ultra Unlock Part 3 will be all about the Galar region!



The Ultra Unlock Part 3 is happening Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time and features all kinds Galar creatures, including Skwovet, Wooloo, Galarian Darumaka, Trubbish, Falinks, Shiny Galarian Meowth, Shiny Galarian Farfetch'd, Shiny Galarian Weezing, and Shiny Galarian Stunfisk! Raids are also a key feature! Week 1 stars Zacian in its Hero of Many Battles form, and Week 2 stars Zamazenta in its Hero of Many Battles form!

Plus, trainers can now add friends directly from their device’s contacts list!

Unite



Episode 219: The Magcargo episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! Tonight, we discuss GO Fest and the new Pokemon UNITE!

Speaking of GO Fest, all three of the Ultra Unlocks were achieved! Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time is on until August 3, but some of the activities are on until August 6 when Ultra Unlock Part 2: Space starts! Part 2 features both forms of Shellos and Basculin, this is your chance to catch the ones that usually don't appear in your hemisphere! August also features a two-day Eevee Community Day, August 14 and 15, with some great bonuses!

Pokemon GO FEST Preview



Episode 218: the Slugma episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast! This week is our Pokemon Go Fest preview! Before we get into it, we talk about the other things happening in Pokemon GO:

The July Research Breakthrough encounter is Rufflet. As an extra bonus throughout July, you’ll also receive a free Remote Raid Pass when you achieve a Research Breakthrough. In raids, the Mythical Pokémon Deoxys will be appearing in its Defense Forme through today, July 16, at which point Mewtwo will be appearing July 16 to July 23. Mega Houndoom is here until today, July 16, followed by Mega Gengar July 16 to July 23, and Mega Charizard X July 23 to August 6. Wednesday raid hours feature Mewtwo July 21 and TBA!?!?! July 28. Tuesday spotlight hours are on, too, July 20 is Squirtle and July 27 is Natu.

And now for Pokemon GO FEST! It's happening July 17 and 18 - 10am to 6pm local time!!! Tickets are $5 instead of the usual $15, and there are sooooo many features, even if you do not get a ticket. The musical theme is super exciting! Will you pick Pop or Rock? Are you excited for raid day? There are all kinds of print at home activites, too! Android users get some special perks! In addition, GO FEST is happening in person in cities around the US, Europe, and New Zealand! Check here to see if your city is on the list! Registration is free and separate from purchased tickets.

June Sneasels



Episode 215: the Sneasel episode of the PokeProblemsPodcast!

In Pokemon GO, June is packed! You have until June 17 to save Shadow Zapdos from Giovanni, Clamperl is the June Research Breakthrough Pokemon, legendary raids feature Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, Mega Raids star Mega Slowbro and Mega Gyarados, Tuesday Spotlight Hours and Wednesday Raid Hours continue, and there will be several special events, including the Solstice Event and an unexpected event that trainers "will be able to sink their two front teeth into"! There will be a special event "A Seven-Colored Shadow" to free Shadow Ho-oh June 17th - Sept 1. And, GO Battle League Season 8 is on until August 30.

Saturday July 3rd and Sunday August 15th will be the next Community Days. Niantic will have special meet and greets, details coming soon! And, don't forget that Pokemon GO FEST will be coming EVERYWHERE July 17-18.

The Fair and Square Competition in Pokemon Sword and Shield starts June 16th!
